heroes of the sea rescued more than 260 people and helped another 950 along the north east coast last year. figures released today show there were 281 launches from lifeboat stations in the region and 265 people were saved....the busiest station was sunderland!!! (says it all!!!:D) well done lads!
 
Top respect to the lads who risk their lives in all weather's. Just out of curiosity mick does it say what was shoreline rescue and sea rescue??. ie fishermen and boats? ??? ;-);-):O

it doesn't mate, just says "the statistics reveal machinery failure the most common cause of rescue, with people in danger of drowning the second most common cause." its in the nights chronicle mate. across uk and Ireland last year lifeboats launched 8,304 times rescuing 8,384 people!
