this flooding must be a pain also all the fertilizer that has been washed into the rivers and other chemicals

That was the 4th flood in 4 weeks so there couldn,t have been many nitrates and such left in the fields to go into the river.
There was over 3 meters in at Haydon bridge on the Tyne last night and the Wear also got a fair bit so any of the above will be well out to sea now....

the local farm only sprayed his fields on Monday and Tuesday and he has a lot of land so looks like more chemicals
passed the tyne before never seen it so brown

Well Billy m8 all this flood water is giving all hard bottom fishing areas hell at the moment as i fished the caans on tuesday and other areas and inshore wrecks and not a cod in site but plenty of whitey/s scotch haddock and coalies but nothing else as the water is too murky and too much fresh water getting in the sea of the land through the rivers and i only wish it would just clear away as its spoiling the boat fishing so hope things change soon.

Just been along the coast from marsden to seaburn, the water coming from the Tyne and the Wear is just mud brown its almost meeting up out at sea not looking good for a few days at least

Why would the fresh water only effect the Codling???.
You had other species that live in the same environment.Could it not be that there are no Cod around at the moment
The fresh water wouldn,t effect the deeper water anyway as it floats on top of salt and would be well diluted by the time it is offshore around the wrecks.

my post was about fresh water salmon and trout and the state of the rivers as bushwhacker says it would not effect wrecks say 10 mile off
