hi everyone

ventured out to skinningrove jetty tonight
just getting my gear out when police showed up officer comes over and tells me its illegal to fish at night
felt quite intimadated by his approach
given a grilling about fishing saying i would be poaching
then breathalised and car given a once over no probs there
think he was dissapointed
checked up with darlington police station and guess what he was talking bollocks the officer in darlington is a sea fisherman and he check their database its not illegal
wish police out on duty would get their facts right

I wish it was me he approached. I would have told exactly where to go and get f****d! You can't poach sea fish! If there are no signs to say private property or No Fishing, you cant be done for that either (unless you broke in i suppose). Some police are head strong to***rs. Once they put on a uniform, they change into super humans and think they can take on the world. Some are ok as well I have to say as I know some. :mad2:

i was night fishing down on the tyne a few weeks ago with my cousin......we were both stood there with are fishing rods in hand when a copper turns up stops the car and asks 'What you doing lads'........i was thinking you stupid c~$t we are both stood with rods in hand .........are you blind!!!!......turned out he and his mate were both ok and had abit crack then they left but you do get the odd idiot copper who thinks they know better......next time get him to arrest you then when you get the station make him look like a right ****!!

on way down lincs coast 2 years back car filled with gear and clearerly see rods and stands in back view winda plod pulls us , where yas going, i replied erm golf tournament. whislt at the same time me mate mick was on phone with the misses screaming and shouting down the blower(p!ssed) ya not fishing whos the lasses voices obviously it was a WPC speaking to us , so next time im taking golf clubs and maybe i wont get pulled ower 3 times

I got stopped in blyth years ago drivin a mini with rods and gear in and rods out windows being a mini I had oil skins and waders on and they asked what you upto lads I felt like saying been to the disco LOL

some of them are a bunch of tools, only the odd few with a chip on their shoulder.

about last night ..... have been given a full apology for the incident

If your not happy at the way you have been treated you did the best thing speaking to the supervisor.
I don,t know all of the facts and cannot really comment. I can say we have to treat every member of the public we deal with with courtesy and respect-its in our codes of practice.

pleased you got it sorted....... now i wonder how many anglers would praise the cops if they found their car broken into while fishing.... and a copper caught the culprit ???????

not the only 1 at skinny 4 weeks sat in the car park got there a bit early stood near the car in my bright orange suit haveing a fag cop van turns up asked what we were doing i said have a guess i think that upset him checks over the car and then says keep the noise down i nearly peed me self laughing dont think thay were happy but as there was 4 ov us thay just left
