i am buying some new line and have been using ultima distance lately and am very impressed but have been told by a lot of people that it is no good and that i should buy some daiwa sensor also does anybody no if this line is any good thanks

I've used sensor, which is alright. I rate daiwa tournament much higher, the lines like fine rubber. It comes off the spool like silk.. My opinion like.

daiwa sensor isnt the best for casting as its abit thicker than most other lines and alot more coily but alot stonger than other lines and if distance isnt too important its a very good line for the price.

its still got a lot to do with what type of fishing you are gonna do buddy :question:all the lines mentioned are all up for the job :question:my choice would be f1 good value m8 ;)

Nowt wrong with sensor I've used it for years but make sure its the black stuff. Sakuma nite crystal on the other hand is proper p*** poor. Snaps like cotton.

Try a few lines and see what you like only way to really find a good line as many people have different preferences.
I have tried a few lines which have been terrible such as F1 and red ice just seems really brittle but others like them so personal choice.

Tried a couple of lines which i like in the .35 which are daiwa tournament and suffix tritanium and would have to say if I am fishing clean to mixed ground all the time then one of these would definintley be my choice.

I haven't fished over rough ground as much as some people on here so may not be the best to recommend a line but I would go for some berkley trilne in the 30lb with a leader or 40lb straight through

Also why dont you just stick with ultima distance if you like it then use it, just because others don't like it why should that make you change

sensor is much much stronger than f1. it is my favourite line but as people say it is slightly thick, f1 on the other hand is mint for casting but breaks at well below its stated b.s !

it doesnt like knots and as soon as it touches out rough it frays like the coller on me 96 polo shirt.

ive also used that ultima distance or tournament or something gear its a like purple colour, this also snaps like cotton.

my oppinion stick to sensor nock a few yards off ure chuck but got alot of faith in landing a fish if you hook out.

If you are impressed with the Ultima Distance why take any notice of someone who tells you different.
If your chosen line begins to let you down then is the time for change, if it aint broke dont fix it.
Everyone has there favourite lines and as you can see from some of the replies not everyone agrees.
trust your own judgement.

i used distance a few years but went off it, why? i dont know, mebbe's cos a went on to 14' rods and changed my casting style to O T G, anyway i istill know a lot of guys who use nowt else but distance and swear by it, sio iif you happy with why change if your impressed , i now ues greys greylon not the worst line in the world as a find it very good , iand virrtually no bother with it only the odd nest but who does;nt and at 3 spools of a 1000m for a tenner i think its great value for money, anyway hope thats helps mate

I use Seastrike & Greys Greylon 35lb straight through and never had any probs with the lines and there cheap, i fish mostly rough ground.

30lb trilene (clear) or sensor when fishing heavy ground.
18 / 20lb f1 on 525s for mixed ground
f1 (black) 15lb on small reels for clean ground.

I got some suffix tritainium. Only used it once so far but its a lovely line, its £10 for 660M. Its a copolymer. And tbh i rate it higher than f1. 30lb .45 dia. Its soft, its comes of the reel lovely. And its great value for money. I would deffo try it.

must have had a dodgy batch then as i was snagged yesterday and it took some pulling before it broke and its only 14lb :)
