What permits are needed for course fishing?

If I have a rod license, would I require furthur permssion to fish from public area into a river e.g. the coquet? Had a quick check online and it seems that while permits are required for trout/salmon, obviously, no one seems to mention permits for coarse fishing and I was wondering whether they were required?

a rod leicence is required for trout/ course fishing iff you have one for trout fishing it covers you for course fishing also (i think) sea trout and salmon require a highr payed leicence ..... but if theres no sign saying to pay for permit fish the fucker its a public lake river
