Any guesses? it has no eyes, feelers and a sucker... and is also pink

Aye it's a hagfish, they latch on to healthy fish and feed on them, boring a hole through them. was it latched on to your mackeral bait?
 
Phil brought it in and we were like WHAT THE **** lol dirty looking thing like lol

Was sucked onto mussle bait, yeah it was a slimey fecker like lol when he pulled it in my first thought was glad he's taking it off the line not me lol

it's a hagfish, a nasty parasite that lives on other marine animals especially fish,they clag themselves on to the body of a fish and basically suck the life force out of that fish, yet if you are a hagfish this is normal way to live,as repusive as it is to us, every animal in the sea has it's place.
 
got loads of them slimy things a couple of years ago on shields pier, tended to turn up when flat calm and nowt else catching. Make a right mess of your rigs aswell.
 
nearly landed one of these buggas off blyth yesterday, was getting a load of knocks yesterday aswell unusual for me :) thought i was gona get me first cod but it wasnt to be (again haha)
 
i would have whipped it straight back onto the hook and sent it packing give other fish a chance to feed on that instead of it feeding on them. lol
 
It's unlikely but unless you caught it in the mouth it's not classed as a catch phil. I got one in the mough but probably just foul hooked it in there as caught loads of these horrible things but usually just in a ball of slime round my hooks
