What type of lead do you use?

Hi all, I would like to know what type of leads do you use for fishing rocky and kelpy ground?

Personally, I use a grip lead for rocky ground where seaweed isn't too much of a problem but if I'm casting into areas of heavy kelp then I use a plain bomb.

Your opinions are much appreciated.

Use potatoes! Thunderpants does for the rough stuff .... Not bad for plonking baits into kelpy gulleys.... And at £2 for a massive bag they are cheap as chips aswell (pardon the pun!) :D

church room leads work for me,lol.joking aside any crap leads as youll probaly never see them again.ive also as mentioned before seen myself fill scoop bags up with a stone, just to lob out,ps canny question,Blankety Blank.

Just use me old knackered sinkers,uk hooks or namix bullets.
Like above, plain bomb for the kelp warfare, grip leads for the rock(think it stops them falling in between the cracks/gaps,may be wrong lol).

this is one guy who wont be haversacking you, good idea if your lobbing in to heavy ground marks but would be a bit weary if you put any power into cast. davy.

Davey! Not meant in NO WAY to be used for power casting these are used in heavy kelp etc. overhead thump only.
If you look at the pebbles you will see a slot cut either end with a diamond cutter this stops any sideways movement of the wire. Cheap, environmentally friendly and safe if used properly. Whitby lads been using these for years m8!

I would allways carry both depending how deep a how much tide there is 9 times out 10 you dont get ya sinker back or ya bottom end unles u have a fish on in some of the places i fish try grippers as some of the timee u lye on the kelp

grippers everywhere I fish for me regardless of where I fish. I fish mainly rock edges too. I find that 9 times out of 10 it's the hook that's snagged anyway.
