Man arrested in London yesterday for handing out offensive cartoons.

Man dressed as a suicide bomber is ignored by police at the same demonstration.

I\'m not going mention, the race or religion of the afore mentioned, but have a guess.

United Kingdom? I don\'t think so.

ive just been watching johnathon dimbleby interviewing a man on the subject
i had to walk away as i was loosing my temper

what we are seeing is perhaps the final nail being hammered in the coffin of free speech.

how can any rational organisation bleive that a 2nd rate cartoon of the the prophet is more offensive to the \'peace loving\' religion of islam, than a video of a man having his head sawn off in the same prophets name

So we send the message out to them \"we are so scared of you, we are going give up one of the fundemental principals of our society\"

might seem like a small thing, but this is a massive turning point, and not one for the good.

the UK press are spineless, but we knew that already

The BNP leader & his sidekick were put on trial (and will be retried) for \"with inciting racial hatred\" for saying that \"Islam is a wicked faith.\"

A woman appearing on a radio show was interviewed by police for saying that she didn\'t think gay couples should be able to adopt children.

Here is a photograph of demonstrators in London yesterday

http://tinyurl.com/azf4o

They are holding aloft placards saying...

\"Exterminate those who slander Islam\"

\"Massacre those who slander Islam\"

In other pictures of the same event shown here (they can\'t be reposted)

http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2006050831,00.html

... placards are visible saying...

\"Behead those who insult Islam\"

\"Europe, Your 9/11 will come\"

and

\"Whoever insults a prophet, kill him\"

This was on the streets of London

Is there not a crime of incitement to commit a crime?

Is murder a crime?

Are they inciting people to murder?

Were there any arrests?

Will anyone be put on trial? :casstet:

I agree with the above posts nobody could argue against it in my opinion, this could be a really interesting thread but be careful what you are posting as it will get deleted :exclam:

Couldn\'t have put it better myself Marc.

Yesterday was a classic case of one rule for one, one for another.

On one hand an individual is arrested over offensive cartoons, yet dozens are allowed to display various banners and wear clothing which is in poor taste to say the least, in a city where, on one july morning last year, so many people lost their lives to suicide bombers of one belief.

Just before this topic kicks off big time, I\'m gonna say that I totally agree with what has been posted (so far).
I too was disgusted as the sights witnessed on the TV and felt pretty much the same previous posters.

This topic COULD turn into a really good thread / discussion..........DON\'T SPOIL IT !

s far as the argument about \"free speech\" goes.....(lost count of the number of times I\'ve had to say this), there is NO \"free speech\" on the \'net.......there are always consequences which go with what is posted.

As I\'ve again said, many times, it\'s Elton and me who would face those consequences - not the person who makes the post. I won\'t carry ANY can for ANYBODY.

So.....keep the discussion going, I\'m all for that. After all, this IS a very important subject. Remember, this topic started off in response to how the Government and the police act on the \"incitement\" issue.......NOT a \"free-for-all\" on the Muslim faith.
LET\'S KEEP IT THAT WAY.

This has to be a tipping point. In my view, and I\'d hope from a legal frame work, ALL of those placards, are contrary to the \'incitement to cause racila or religious hatred\' bill tony and his cronies fought to get on the statute books last month.

I wonder if there is a clause in that bit of legislation that says, this bill will only be applied if you are a western, caucasian??

tough on crime?? tough on the causes of crime??

very hipocritical. Freedom of speech and freedom of expression is worth defending, and if followeres of islam choose to express thereselves in this way, then so bit, but, only if that right is extended in both directions.

Failure to stand up to these bullying tactics now, sends a very bad message to the head the balls in our midst.

As for deleting posts.... well, thats back to free speech.....If things get deleted because they are racist, well thats one thing, if its because someone wants to voice their opinion about a particular religion, that\'ll be the last anyone hears of me on here

Understood Tony, being very careful what I write.

The world is conned by religion again....the fat cats at the top dish out the orders and rake it in,while there servants create the havoc at the bottom, meanwhile a free thinking country gets ever smaller.

whats your point Marc ? All I said was be careful what you are posting as it will be deleted

Not wanting to give the moderators a reason to delete my post ( I understand your obligations lads ) so I\'m not going to post my true feelings on this ,suffice to say that I\'m disgusted ,appalled and ashamed of the country I love ,as I\'ve posted before I\'d move to Australia tomorrow if my kids wheren\'t so far into their education here.
I know it would only be a solution for MY family but this country is only going to get worse ,it simply can\'t get better as the rot has not only set in but taken over !!!!!

I take on board what Tony says though, I might not agree with it, but will abide as this is the laws/rules of this forum.

I think Tony answered that, just could\'nt understand your point,I want the thread to continue the same as most people, the site owner and Admin are libel for the content of the site.Like I said I agree with whats been posted so no need to have a dig

Where am I having a dig, I edited my post to say I accept what Tony says before you posted your reply.

:casstet: I presume banging your head is you disagreeing with what I posted,it was follow on posts I was concerned about and not what had already been posted
