Still have to disagree Davey, regardless of the cost whether it be £20 a year or 20p a year, why should anyone be forced to join an angling club if they dont want to ? its the closed shop system all over again as far as I am concerned.

no closed shop here port of tyne have kindly let clubs have the privilege to fish the pier through out the year,only last year helped amble club to fish a club match on the pier,post office,police,railway,and other organisations have access to the pier with the port of tyne permission on certain dates. davy.
 
I dont want to get into a long lasting discussion on this Davey so we will have to beg to differ, I am still of the opinion that its wrong to stop anyone from fishing unless they belong to any particular club mate.

If I joined one of the permitted clubs would I only be allowed on the pier when that club had a comp or does membership allow access at other times.

Theres still plenty whiteys about and lots of dabs and flounders to fish for you could try scaleiing down gear even give the lrf a go later on thetes always some sport i swap to northumberland in summer months
