Been doing a Google Earth lookaround and came across this peculiar thing off Middleton Pier, Hartlepool.
Any idea what it is?

Looks like one of those big slider's or a copper bolt

definitely just looks like a reflection of the pier on the lens. theres nothing there just sand. on the biggest tides you can almost walk that area.

dunno what yous are on about?all i can see is like a swirly wavey sort of summat at top nowt else?????

Both fish occasionally get washed up on local beaches. Weakened after spawning? Normally deep water fish they may venture too far inshore chasing sprats, sand eels and such like? Not enough water pressure in the shallow water affects their swim bladders?
