thay are at Whitby, the biggest fish in the Whitby open was 16lb in a two fish bag of 19lb 14oz. In a sweepstake match the winning bag was three cod for 28lb, biggest 19lb plus. A Whitby club match was won with 27lb.

the trawler guys out of blyth say they havent seen as many in years out at sea,but they cant land them, mmm.they arent showing on the shore, maybee to much feed out by.

Not sure what they are feeding on as towards the back end of the wreckign season all the cod i was catching had stones and just sand crabs in the gutts.

Most years i would expect them to have prawns, small fish and crabs in the gutts but found very little holding prawns this year and none with worm.

Looked as thou they all just grubbing around on the sea bed.

Same old story every year, thats why i dont bother winter fishing much if at all our days....we wait all year for the fish to come in on a east wind then little shows and we all complain.

Thats fishing for you, keeps you warm at night thinking this could just be the night i hate a biggun :)

Aren't there no take areas down that way for the trawlers? Maybe that's why there are fish down there

i think in all hoesty we should have no take area's all across the northeast aswell as the rest of the country and ban those spanish trawling our waters

Another 19lb+ came off Marine Drive ( Scarborough ) in a club match Tues night caught by Ray Maddison, Well Done m8
