where to collect peelers

I only asked where can I collect peelers, sorry lads if it's a touchy subject. Where can I collect them without having to scrap for them? ie. lifting a rock or two, the old fashion way? :)

its hard work looking for crab on the open coast try the tyne at low water find a place with loads of rock and easy access and you will pick a few up for a session.

where to collect peeler- anywhere you like!

where in Shields can i collect peelers?

you will be able to find them around any part of the shore line, especially with this warmer weather starting, under rocks & any other debris, i usually find quite a few in old tyres which are scattered around.i do believe they once belonged to someone as the tyres have names on, Mr pirelli and Mr Dunlop, i also found a few of Mr Yokohamas...

I had to sort all my tyres out a few weeks back because over the course of last year some dick decided to take a few and and put them where he wanted them, so i sorted out his crap work by putting my tyres back where they should be, hidden away sunk into the mud (not to deep), to give shelter to the peeling crabs, then i shall collect the rewards of my efforts. :)

I will laugh at the day when all these tyres get taken away for good, which will happen sooner or later and put an end to this crap but until then I will be dippin me hands in them when I get the chance :)

with great reluctance i actually agree with andy on this subject:)
its very bad crack raiding someones tyers, top and bottom of it is you will end up getting a good slapping if caught

u can get crabs in most of the pubs in blyth. seriously lads, theres been some good crack on this subject, a personnally would never raid some1`s tyres/traps, they work hard at it, ask a lobster fisherman how he feels about people pulling his pots. ? . same princible.

Not at all. they need a licence and have an up keep off a boat to pay for. Infact don't they pay for a quota for what they catch ? I might be wrong. But fly tipping on a public beach is certainly not the same imo.

i am hearing a lot of jealousy from some comments about collecting bait
the green eyed monsters they are known as ya get them all over fishing sites :D

i will ask again where does the bait come from that ya buy from tack shops

Am glad your so understanding on this subject, coz al tell you what, its hard work maintaing and digging out tyres for the up and coming season, and collecting the crab is hard work too, so you can see why we are so protective of our tyres.

A hope you get some tyres sorted mate and the info a give you is put to good use. :)
