Can anyone reccommend a good quality telescopic spinning rod? As its summer I go out on the motorbike and sometimes wish I had a telescopic rod in my backpack. I had one a few years ago but it snapped so I dumped it reel and all!

there are some good 4 and 6 peice spinning rods
better than telescopic
ive got a shakespeare and a shimano one
and i got jessica a little okuma set in a cace
rod,reel and boxes

I bought a shakespear combo thingy with 6 piece telescopic rod and targa FS reel for £26.

It casts a 50g spinna well and i had a accidental baba tope on it which give it a good pounding. i keep it in the boot of me car....just in case

Our Davey bought a Ron Thompson Zensorflex from Ian Woods shop and it handled the pollack and codling when he was over in Norway recently so should be more than good enough for the NE coast ;)

The RT Zensorflex start from £8.99 for a 6\' up to £16.99 for a 9\'.

Both these prices are minus your 10% NESA discount

Can also post for a small charge

:D :D

I was wondering about those multi section rods.....................Would you say the are better than a telescopic rod? I was in the mind of paying something around about the £60 to £80 mark. I thank you for the advice mentioning a Ron Thomson rod but find these to be a bit too cheap. Dont want to go down the road of buying one to find out 6 months down the line its scrap and still have to go out and purchase a better one. ie throwing money away......Gordon.

The best multi piece spinning rod I have come across is the 9\' Shimano Exage STC 15-40g 6 piece rod complete with tube. These also have two butt sections so you can use the rod as a 9\' or an 8\' rod.

Price is £61.99 -10% NESA discount

I have the Shimano Beastmaster STC Spin 15-40g (6 sections) and it is lovely (strong and light). I paid £46 inc del from eBay and coupled it up with a £28 shimano nexave 2500FA reel with 11lb stren line. It is by far the best fishing setup I have ever had. Even the carrying tube looks the business ;)
