only fished it once but it was flat calm & m8 lost a 20+ that day just as i was about 2 guill it his snood snapped. deep, deep water at your feet m8 so no need 2 wack it. this was also daylite, we just laughed at him when he chucked out a big macky flapper, it was like a brick but he turned the tables when he hooked the fish.

al b there b4 you lol:quote me if I am wrong it's ment to hold the north east record for the biggest shore cod

I know of 3 fish over 25lb alan chapmans off white rock, gramham alis off the wherry and tommy wilkinson from whitburn club who has record in tht club 27+ from righthandside steel

Nice pic Ian, I fished it a few weeks back and the sea was a bit too big, it was bursting over the front of it even at low water. Not a place to fish in the dark if you havent been there before. Tide floods quickly too.

If you go to the White Rock please take care as it's very easy to get cut off. Also it doesn't take much of a swell for it to start coming over.
Just be safe everyone.......especially this close to Christmas.

Cheers Ian.

Yes good advice, I misjudged the tide once when fishing with Mickey Mouat, I came off 3-4 minutes before him and was up to the goolies in places, when mick came off he was up to his moobs! We laugh about it now but a couple minutes later and we would have been swimming, or rather sinking with chesties on! The white rock stands 2 metres high in places so its hard to judge the time you have to get off.

Its along time since I fished it I used to fish it bye myself on a night time thinking back I must have been mad was very keen then I was on one night with a good swell on keeping an eye on the water and saw this wave coming and thought this is not going to stop anyway it did but still flooded the front part of the rock big warning as I say it is a long time since I fished it I know part of it is hollow you can here the water gushing in and out don't know what it is like getting down to it now first fished it when the Whitburn work shops were there
