Whitley Bay 5th Oct

Arrived to fish the tide down about 3 hours and catch the first of the flood. Didn't really expect too much with a flat seas but thought there may be a few fish around after the seas earlier in the week. Using Rag Lug and fresh blacks I managed to catch four fish. a coley and three codling . The coley went back to grow a bit bigger and the codling were all size with the biggest around 2.5 lbs caught just as the tide began to flood. Left about 1am . Anglers were well spread out and I saw a couple of other fish being caught. when I left there was only one other angler on the beach.

Quite a few fish coming out of Whitley bay lately.

Nice one Tom. You should be able to get out and do it all again later in the week if the forecast for northerlies is right. Pity about the tide times then though.
