it was a rotten old night gary. had a 20 metre metal fence blown over on to my rod and stand took two of us to lift it up about three freet so I could get my smashed stand and rod out luckly rod ok and no broken rings lucky I was not standing next to it. must of been a nightmare on blyth beach. davy.
Glad to hear the rod's ok Davy - must be a tough old thing! Had to hose out the box, rinse the reel & rod & wash the coat & waders this morning & clean every bit of tackle from the box to get rid of the sand - I'm still rubbing it out of my eyes!
well done gary on finding a few fish and for sticking it out, big gaz and myself went for an early bath (10ish) with only a 4oz coalie for me and a PB turbot for gaz 6oz
Cheers Kev, had a few undersize as well early on but by about 10 the sea was really big so switched to codling baits but no success. Well done to Gaz on the turbot - never had one myself off Blyth beach!
