Wey, me and 2 mates hit the beach about 4:30pm, crackin sea on. 2nd cast me m8 pulls in a nice 3.4lb codlin. Jackpot we thought, could be some decent fish ere. 3rd cast in and some freak wave swamps the stairs where our gear sat and swept away all our crab, mussel, lug... The lot. Friday the 13th?! What a *******! Luckily, I had some more crab in the car. Continued fishing and the same lad pulls in another codlin bang on 2lb, it was gonna go back but it was knackered, so it got filleted. About an hour later me other m8 pulled in a nice 2.10lber. That was about it, blank for me :(. Packed up aboot 8:30pm still a little ****ed off with losing our gear but still about 7.5lb worth of fish caught. Not a bad little neet, well, for them...

Tell me aboot it lad, not sure what exactly Dunny lost but 10 of our crab went swimming in me box and am sure he had a pack of runny doon and a bit lug.

Yea he did. Canny ground bait. I would rather catch my co*k in my zip then lose bait like that again. Never mind there is always the 21st. ;-)

What a bar steward. Happened to me once at Parton. Lovely sea on for Bass. Set up on some rocks-everything nice and a bloody big wave swamped my gear. Box upside down. Bait lost--lovely red rag--£10 worth.
I went back round to the Friarage and bought some more but to be honest day just went downhill after that.
Mick.

At least you had some spare bait and saved the session which resulted in some fish.
From past experience, I now hang my tackle box on my tripod when there's big surf.
