10 members fished tonight on a very small high tide, but 2 very nice bags topped the weigh-in:

1st - Don Nicholson, 3 fish, 24lb 5oz - Cullercoats, including HF 11lb 3.5oz
2nd - Chris Stringer, 3 fish, 16lb 6oz - Whitley Beach
3rd - Colin Bell, 3 fish, 6lb 5oz - Whitley Beach
4th - Dave Milne, 1 fish, 2lb 8oz - St Mary's prom
5th - Mick Wood, 1 fish, 1lb 14oz - Crisps

Very well done to Don - here's a happy man with his three fish of 11lb 3.5oz, 7lb 10oz & 5lb 7.5oz......

Well done also to Chris who had the second HF, a fine specimen of 8lb 15.5oz in his bag.

Cheers, Gary :)

Yes Don has pipped Mick Clark's current heaviest fish of 2012 so far by half an ounce - poor Mick! Still, there were some good fish taken last night, but those of us fishing the West Bay / Bibles / St Mary's area really struggled, only 2 small fish weighed in amongst five of us, plus a few undersize coalies.

Gary :)

Cracking bag of fish that like and some other cracking bags weighed in

Was up Boulmer last night for me club comp and it made the sport at st marys area look hectic lol, was dire to say the least managed one small coaley last cast wish I had of stayed local. going to give cullercoats harbour rocks a shot over LW today to get me bait used up and do a bit of report chasing

yes well done that man,
it was tough going lastnight 4 most lastnight gary m8. me & davey just ended up in Cullercoats bay trying 4 flats 4 the last of our match, i did manage 1 that was size but we seen the lads on the south pier.

i wish i'd been brave and gone on the pier, that was me on the beach casting in between the piers, before moving to the ramp behind charleys. it looked perfect, but no proper bites all night.

All the shots I'd really fancied last night were full of rods before we started; drove by Colleywell - full of lights, same at Hartley...Don had said to me "come down to Cullercoats" but I must admit I had visions of waves coming over the top and going for an early bath lol! I think he got away with it being such a small tide & the fact the sea wasn't actually that big - unfortunately there was very little water in west bay & when I moved onto the prom at St Mary's at high tide the water was barely reaching the bottom of the wall at one small spot; anywhere else and you'd have had to drag any fish over 30 yards or more of rocks:(

Gary :)

you missed nowt at collywell gary , we stuck it out for hour n half then went on the sumps nowt there either, bit too heavy on the sumps.
