Want to try fishing Whitley Bay but don\'t know where to try. Seen marks mentioned like Panama, Wilkies, Slatey Gut etc but don\'t know where they are. Can anybody help?

Hi Colossus, firstly Slaty Gut is at the north end of Tynemouth Beach.
Right Whitley Beach, park at the rendezvous cafe walk through the arch rocks directly in front are North Wilkies, fish the right hand corner when rocks show. Goinf North next is Big Bay, the skeer north of that is north skeer, and then you have little bay. South of North Wilkies is South Wilkies, fished on a bigger tide. South of that is Panama Dip, you will see the Panama Swimming club hut on the prom, then you haver a variety of matks Ceontaph, there is a monumnet on top of the prom, then Watts slope, that is in fromnt of the slope coming onto the beach in front of waht was the Spanish city. Further along you have the half moon skeers. You will be able to see where to fish by the balck water in amongst the white water. Keep moving from mark to mark as they drain out. Hope that has been of a little help.

if you go to the rendevous cafe at whitley bay you can drive through the archway and park on the front. directly infront of rendevous cafe that is panama dip. when looking out to sea, to the left at low water some rocks will appear that is wilkies.
Further up the coast is the boat station you can either walk it (bit Far) or drive a little further along the road and double back park where the little golf club house is. 200 yards on from there where you turn into St Marys lighthouse there is a walkway with a railing on it you can fish there ar high water will be worth a chuck there at the minute also you can get onto St Mary Island at low water but be careful on that one....

hope that help
