Whitley Beach - New Years Eve

Got a pass oot and managed a few hours down in front of the Rendezvous Cafe on Sun day night.

Fished just to the left of the rocks - right hand side of the cafe. Fairly snaggy and although I had a couple of knocks caught nowt. Is this a good spot?

Was blowing a gale (westerlies) and the sea was flat.

Managed to make it home about 1130 just in time to say happy new year to the missus!

All the best everyone!

The rocks in question or wilkinsons better known as north and south wilkies and my favourite shot on the beach i prefer a medium size tide with a good sea on ' i fish it down to low water then move a couple of hundred yards to the left and fish the north skeer for the flood as wilkies never produces much on the flood but the bites in shallow water the last of the ebb are fantastic were 2lb fish really pull your string' ive had quite a few fish around the 5lb mark out over the years with my best in a club comp weighing 8lb 6oz.

ps whitley beach is pretty poor in calm seas.

Thanks Geordie,

I've had a look at the map in the "north east fishing marks" section of the site, where abouts is the rendezvous cafe/parking spot on there?
