Nice sea running in when i walked onto Whitley prom at 5-30pm, decided big bay looked the shot, that's just to the left of the Rendezvous cafe. Baited up with crab on the top hook, and runny down on the bottom, cast about 70-80yds, waited about 10mins holding the rod as the rain started to come down harder, when I felt the lead move a little. There was plenty loose weed around, so was wondering if I'd picked some up. No movement for a while, then a couple of tiny pulls, so decided it was a fish, struck and reeled in a codling of 2lb. My phone rang, it was my mate Ken fishing What's slope, told him I had one. He said it was a bit "heavy" there so would come to big bay. No sooner had he hung up, I got a nice bite, which resulted in a slightly smaller codling. Ken arrived as I was into my 3rd cast and was soon into my 3rd fish of a similar size. As I was re-baiting< Ken came back to the Tackle box, saying he'd just lost a nice fish which stopped him in the shore brake.
A couple more casts but all went quiet, and now getting dark, so ken went onto Wilkinson's, and I went onto north skeer. After a couple of casts on there, I decided to go to Wilkinson's as there was a lot of loose weed fouling my line here. As I arrived there, Ken was coming off, said he'd caught 2 fish, but he has a knackered knee at the moment, so was off home.
Chucked out on the north east corner and soon got another codling, again of a similar size. Next cast, fast up, snapped the lot off near the rod tip, now feeling dampish, decided that was enough. So headed home at 8-30, really enjoyed the session. Sorry no pics due to the weather.
