not nice to see stuff like that even more so when you have kids with you but at the end off the day thats the natural world!
trying to teach my 4yr old that but luckily shes very bright(doesnt take after her daddy) and gets all this stuff at the moment

they where lucky this time, unfortunately between the swans, crows, magpies about a third of the ducklings make it to grow up, the swans have even done for quite a few of adult geese over the years, and then there is the sparrowhawks as well, but this is nature and after having watched nature for many years it is very cruel.

totally agree mate
i think its because to us humans it is cruel because in our minds this is wrong
but to other creatures the strongest survive! very cruel but there you go mate
