why is it that during the summer months we seem to get prevailing norherly winds, wich we don't want ,and in the winter we seem to get mostly westerly winds,wich we defo don't want, now correct me if i'm wrong but thirty years ago when i first started fishing [and also started to take a intrest in wind direction] i'm sure it use to be the other way around, any answers anybody.

called sods law, remeber when I was a lot younger, when we had proper seasons, winter wind strong anywhere from Northerly to Southerly, summers winds, if there, mild offshore breezes, take the boat out whenever you like. Must be global warming, you know the warming they are always talking about that has you putting the central heating on in the summer.

You know thinking on this.
Long time ago when i was a paper delivery lad i would open my bedroom curtains and almost always see the wind blowing the smoke out the power station towards Blyth beach.
Hardly ever the other way.
I know this as when it was the other way,i would get some wind help when riding back up to Cowpen with a heavy bag.
So maybe memories trick us.
