Windscreen warning

So if you have a small car like our Fiat Panda and stuff your rods in, you may damage the windscreen. We did, a tiny, tiny scratch on the inside. No real issue we thought. Called out Autoglass and they said as it's on the inside they could only replace it. Not worth it, as it was a tiny scratch.

Well apparently windscreens now count for MOT and it will fail!! So £260 for new windscreen!! Blooming dear for cramming your rods in a car!

We had a Volvo Estate, way too expensive to run, so bought a dinky toy instead! Not bothered about big cars, but rods will go butt end to windscreen from now on!

I recently bought some Neoprene Rod Tip protectors from the WSF Close down sale. Never seen them before but they are brilliant. Made by IRC. At least now when I catch the Ceiling etc with them they don't do any damage lol.

so thats why ppl chop rods ???....if u put it in right u can get away with it . i managed to fit a kompressor ss with reducer in no probs in a 2 dr polo. u gotta toy with the angles etc . sorry to hear bout the windscreen tho 260 quid is a lot .

I thought that only applied if it was in a certain area of vision of the driver kayos.

I will check and a coincidence indeed! Phoned them and a couple of others and Lynn will be cancelling Autoglass appointment! Got a quote for £180 and another one says they will better that, but can't say by how much until after Easter. So shop around guys.

as silly as it may sound ask around for anybody that fits 2nd hand windscreens we use to do them at a fraction of the cost that autowindscreens use to charge

on a sidenote im sure your insurance should cover the cost of a glass replacements ,, been a few yr since did this so might have changed
