My useless excuse of a mrs has left my bait freezer door open and destroyed a f*****g fortune in bait. 600 peeler, 400 black lug, about 30 mackerel, 100 razor. Thats my season finished before its started. Of course its my fault and she doesnt understand why I'm so p****d off about a few crabs and some worms:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

You know what f***s me off even more is I haven't been able to collect my own bait this year because of the baby so I've paid for everything that was in there. 600 crab at 65p each, you do the maths:mad::mad::mad::mad:

bad crack mate:( but dont dismiss re frozen crab they will work unless they have went jet black. hope you get sorted with something and remember divorce lawyers cost a fortune:D

What about home contents insurance...couldnt the freezer have developed a fault. I know that doesnt provide an immediate answer to getting hold of some crab, but I would imagine any that are going spare will be at a premium rate especially given all this rain and the lack of crab around at the minute.

Sorry to hear that Sean.

Got to admit I was just gonna suggest that..gotta be better than nowt.

I'm no expert but I don't think it matters with black lug & razor.

i left a bag of a 100 out the freezer for a day last year re froze them and still caught fish with them buy bulking them up with worm or mussel etc they work simple as that:)

She was in the freezer 4 days ago so everything is ruined, cheers for the contents insurance idea Ali but I can't justify claiming for bait. My premium is high as it is, without a claim on it.

Sorry to hear about the news Sean. Thats some bait you had there.
I,m sure the missus will be upset.
One of the lads mentioned home insurance. It will be worth making a claim. Have a look into it. Take a couple of photos etc for the claims dept.

Mick.

im sure she will be forgiven in time then yous will look back at it and laugh about it ,but for now the pain will heal slowly ,hope you get sorted asap but hang onto what ya got it will still produce fish its better than having no bait at all

Thanks guys

Thanks guys

I had my heart set on returning to the match scene this year, I'm fishing really well at the moment and a lot of that is down to good bait. I've managed to get hold of some bait but nowhere near what I needed for the season.

Id be doing an insurance claim, most freezer claims have a maximum claim but will probs be around £200-250. Plenty of bait can be bought with that.....or a nice new rod ....or reel...or...

refreeze them all and wait for the winter to start and some idiot will buy them off you lol people go daft at the word peeler in the winter so im sure people will buy them without thinking lol

My home insurance pays out £600 for freezer contents. Only ever made 1 claim and it didn't affect my premium at all. Boiler burst and put a hole in my ceiling on a friday night and we had the cheque on the monday morning.:o
