Lol 2006 world cup he played a grand total of 74 minutes and 2010 higuain and tevez were the main 2 strikers and they only played 4-5 games and 3 this year so 5 goals in 8 world cup games isnt bad especially for someone that plays behind the 2 strikers

Fat Ronaldo didnt score half as many as messi at club level, Its the same level of football and pretty much the same players you play against in the world cup and he is only 20 goals behind Ronaldo at international level and also when you look at the players Ronaldo had around him in the Brazil team no wonder he scored goals, Messi hasnt got players of that calibre around him

I think that strike rate playing for a not brilliant Argentinian team is world class mate.... Bare in mind he had played in a very weak argy team for a good few years aswell.... Not bad!

LOl clearly you cant read..I never once said his goals make him world class, I also mentioned awards like ballon d'or, world cup medal and olympic gold medal and other records he broke not just goals scored so try reading again
Also i would love to know what the players you mentioned have done to make them better than messi? Im not saying they werent but obviously you think they were so what makes them better?

And if you did read they were replies to other posts about his poor record for his country...its called facts and data and yes it is an important factor and obviously you missed the other awards i mentioned NOT JUST GOALS, so again tell me what does determine the best ever player and what makes the players you mentioned better than messi because i would love to hear it?
Fact is that football is about scoring goals which he does as well as get a lot of assists

The point I was trying to make was that it is impossible for people to say who is/was the best player ever to play the game. Of course anyone can have an opinion, but no definitive answer could ever be reached.
In my opinion, it is easier to be a good player nowadays. Firstly the modern ball is a fraction the weight of the old leather casers. Early players had to play in not much better than pit boots. Football pitches used to be not much more than ploughed fields, but there were still players that could run circles around the other players on the pitch. I wonder how good those players could have been with modern boots, balls and strips playing on the manicured bowling green pitches we have today.

And where did I say you did say that?? Nowhere because I didnt so I think its you that has missed the point not me I simply asked what makes the players you mentioned that we supposedly "have never seen play" better than him ??
And those players were brought up using those boots and balls so its what they were used to and you can say the same for the olden day players playing with today's modern technology....
If a player has skill it doesnt matter what boots are on his feet..I have seen players doing crazy skills with coins, bottles, golf balls and many other things never mind a old leather casey lol

How can any one player be the very best messi is a striker and probably isn't as good as say David luiz at defending. They all have flaws. He could probably be the worlds best striker at this present moment but there will always be better/worse player than anyone

Agree... Rooney is nowhere near world class. As Pele said, a street footballer... Pure and simple. I wouldn't put him anywhere near a world eleven. Totally over rated... Runs like a Cracker Jack but not in the same technical class of a Van Persie, Suarez, Neymar etc....
