Worst reels ever!!!

Bought a greys g-mag seven had one cast and it was just in winding itself so took it back to the shop and got it replaced with a brand new one..so off a went bk out the following night chucks it out first cast and what do u know exact ally the same problem!!by this time am fuming so bk to the shop ago.walk in he says what's the matter now so a explain it was the same problem wich he must ov already knew coz without hesitation he offers me a diffrent type ov reel wich was a abu seven so went out with that and everything seems fine ..so far..so if anyone is thinking about getting a g-mag seven dont bother and think again!!

Ive had one of those abu sevend there ok for the money. Bit rough two reels braking on ya.

They were both brand new a wonder if they got a dodgy batch or something?pretty disapointed tho a liked the look ov them but after all that it has put me ryt off the gmag!

I wouldn't have an Abu seven either mate the gear ratios are terrible 4.1:1 is far too slow its also level wind and that noise it makes when it spinning off during the cast in awful for an extra £20 you could of had a slosh 20/30 which will last you years

Should have taken it to bits cleaned the grease out,oil it and its a different reel altogether, much stronger than an Abu by far !

Am not to keen on the slosh like a na a few lads that have got them and they al swear by them but they seem quite noisy aswel.a no what u mean about the noise off the level wind but should be alright once a take it off.

i agree with david mind should have went for a slosh as i heard none too good reviews about that abu 7! More of a boat reel really john!

thats what i did to my two aswell full strip flush oil! lada to a ferrari lol!!

Shouldn't ov had to tho that's the thing a had just bought it brand new the reel should ov been running perfect .

the g-mags were notorious for being very slow out of the box!
the bearings were chocka full of grease
thats been reported with both models of g-mag john

To much grease in them and they slip back when winding in.i have two g mag 7 and there spot on after they were doctored!

What slosh have you used that was noisy as mine is quiet as hell part from the clicker when retrieving
