Was going through my backed up photos yesterday and came across this beauty from a few years back

We'd just got back to RQ after a fairly awful trip out...prior to which we had put the trap out under the berth as Steve wanted some eels for pike bait

Needless to say we weren't expecting to find this inside!!!

I remember it well it was real mad when we got it out, especially strong fighting since not being pulled 100 foot up by a hook in the mouth but more or less elevated in a lift

Was a pot full of slimeys previously from memory ?

with the amount of small codling in the Tyne at times would imagine quite a few would go through the lock gates and become trapped and just grow and grow

What a day that was, we struggled to find fish, that was the biggest of the day I think.
