Zziplex rods

i agree bought a zziplex primo full tournament and it cost me a fortune and the best part is i carnt get away with it.

but if people are willing to buy them after all its there cash.

Seems a lot and you can get them cheaper elsewhere.

But: I got my first Zziplex (Pendleteque Pro-Am Match) in 1990. Paid £170 for the blank (and the top of the range Pendleteque Bullet was a bit more expensive), a few seconds web search for an inflation cost calculator puts the equivalent price today at £337, with the rider (this is what the site says) that this is probably nearer £400 when you factor in increased labour costs and more expensive materials.

I'd also add, for your £400 would you rather buy a hand made, British ZZiplex or a Yuki or Colmic rod?

Either way I still think there getting to expensive for blanks i have had most zziplex rods well recent models I understand about the quality of the rod, however nearly £400 for a blank is getting stupid, I was buying new blanks for £310 last year £50 a year inflation? Then to get one from uk hooks your talking close to £600

same could be said about any top quality rod its a very expensive hobby now.

might be the reason a lot are giving it up by the time u bought the gear bait terminal tackle head torch rod stand etc it soon gets very very expensive.

I think most if not all high end manufacturers rods are going to be around that price century's Komp ss,tippy sport rrp over £400 excalibers etc more expensive cono-flex the same slr plus nearly £400 Anubis well over £400.

That's built though mate this is a price for blank only

When my grandad started me off in the early 1980's, an ABU reel cost him a weeks wages as a miner. I've pointed out that my first Zziplex bought 24 years ago would cost the equivalent of £340 and probably more now.

I don't think fishing as a hobby is more expensive now than it was 30 years ago, what has happened is that the general cost of living (food, diesel, gas and electric, housing) has got vastly more expensive meaning less money for discretionary spending on other things (and these things seem a lot more expensive because there is less money spare to spend on them).

A bit more perspective, if a bit off topic - I live in Durham and it generally costs me as much in diesel for a local fishing trip as I spend on buying the bait

Just took a look on efishsell sold out of the zeteque txl's waiting on more coming in.total price with delivery, bag, coasters, shrink and butt cap £331 so might be worth waiting.

Cheers for the help mick a lot cheaper the only problem with zziplex is the variation in the same model that's all that puts me of efish
