EFTTA MAKES ITS MARK AT MAJOR USA TACKLE SHOW

ICAST50 impressed by plans for EFTTEX 2008 and new digital ETN magazine

EFTTA made a major impression at the huge ICAST50 tackle trade show held in Las Vegas – by unveiling our exciting plans for EFTTEX 2008 in Rome and our new digital magazine, EFTTA Trade News.

The event, in the Las Vegas Convention Centre, attracted more than 6,700 visitors over three days and occupied 350,000 square feet.

The EFTTA stand was overwhelmed with enquiries and several companies signed on the dotted line on the day for EFTTEX 2008 including Whale, Costa Co, Pline and Uoya.  Rome has proved to be a popular venue and global companies eager to expand into the European market recognise that EFTTEX is the only way to achieve their goals.

EFTTEX exhibition manager Kate Scrafton said: “No other exhibition has the history and constant quality that EFTTEX offers. The American companies could not believe that having only just finished the 2007 exhibition we had already sold over 5,200m for 2008.”

The new digital magazine, EFTTA Trade News, also proved to be a huge hit at ICAST50.

Visitors to the EFTTA stand were given a demonstration of the latest EFTTA publication and wanted to know how they could sign up to receive it – and feature their news and products.

Naidre Werner, of EFTTA Trade News publishers TheSourcefor Publications, said: “The Americans congratulated EFTTA on having produced a trade magazine in a format that fits in with their modern lifestyle.

“It is electronic, so it can be read on a Blackberry or PC and its carbon footprint is tiny – it is distributed via email only and no paper or chemicals are used in its production. This environmentally-friendly aspect of EFTTA Trade News was very important.”

Two issues of EFTTA Trade News have been produced so far, each emailed to more than 6,000 worldwide fishing tackle companies and journalists.

Editor John Kelly, a former editor of Angling Times, said: “From the feedback we have received so far, it’s evident that the fishing tackle trade needed a publication that delivered clear, concise articles – free from prejudice and on subjects relevant to them.

“There is no hidden commercial agenda – EFTTA Trade News exists simply to tell the world about the latest news and developments from the fishing tackle trade and to ensure the ongoing success of EFTTEX, which is the leading European tackle trade exhibition by far and run by EFTTA with the single intention of giving the trade the best possible platform to grow and develop internationally.”

Kate Scrafton added: “We would like to say a big thank you to everyone we met at ICAST for their warm welcome and enthusiasm for both EFTTA and EFTTEX and look forward to helping them making the transition into the European market.”
