a good bass rod and reel comboination

I am looking for a bass fishing rod and reel for around £150-£200 mark. any advice?

My advice would be to consider the secondhand route rather then buying modern Chinese made gear. I bought an anyfish anywhere clubman bass only used once for £65 at a bootsale which is being sold new on ebay for around £220. I got a brand new unused Penn Extreme Vengeance Bass for £25 from Gumtree and a brand new unused Penn Affinity TRQ Bass for £90 on ebay which is still being sold for around £260.

The Affinity is awesome and also can double as a light beachcaster and casts very very well. Saw one go secondhand recently for £75, so bargains still around.

Team any of these up with something like an old Penn 4500ss, one here, VINTAGE CLASSIC PENN 4500SS TOP QUALITY SURF SPINNING REEL 1990s USA ! ! ! | eBay , then you'll have years of fun and be well in budget. These reels are real quality, made in USA and will last a lifetime. Good luck.

I would recommend the zziplex powertex bass if you could find one second hand i use it with an akios 656 ctm. its my favourite set up it will also chuck a 4 oz lead a long way if you need to.

Zziplex powertex secondhand is fetching £180 - £200 all day long. Might not allow the OP too much for a reel?
