a word of warning

you just touched the right colur paper lingking, there is a lad who has caught a very big fish but dosn't want it advertised as he thinks the netters will be out, they probably already know and it has been mentioned with no name where the fish was caught in a local angling column, the netters wouldn't be interested in the lads name anyway, which is all I haven't got, so he might as well come forward and get the accolades his catch deserve. 0191 2531949 e mail [email protected] if you wish to give me the info, that is if you are on NESA.

to any one that has been offended;the post was meant to be taken with a bit of humour:)

however i think the point has been made quite clearly:D:D:D:D:D post or no post the trawler lads know when and where the fash are:D:D:D:D

thanks for the responses, very rare one of my posts gets 3 pages:D:D:D

Hi Duncan, I tried to post a humorous thread about crabbing. That didn't work either! Some touchy people on here. Thought I had logged onto WSF last night by mistake :red:

Hope normal service is resumed as soon as possible. This is a great site, long may that continue.

The only thing I would say on the subject is : Commercial netters (the ones who abide by the law) without doubt have 100% more knowledge of where the fish are likely to be than even the most experienced angler, so posting your catches on this site to me will have no influence at all on where they will set their nets. Whilst myself personally hates the idea of catching fish in nets, they are a way of life and have been around longer than everyone who uses this site.
Everyone has a living to make, and most netters are decent law abiding people. However there are "chancers" for example. I used to fish at Torness, but don't bother now having witnessed a couple of "chancers" using a net to catch bass. Having watched them pulling it in at low tide, I was sickened at the amount of fish caught in it, especially the amount of undersize ones, which couldn't be put back as they were dead.
No wonder the fishing is so poor there now to what it used to be.

will all be different when the fish arrive, I have left what I thought where humerous posts best one is when someone asks "antbody got such and such result" I reply "yes" must be my wierd sense of humour as a few don't think it is funny at all.

i think duncan had a valid point with his first post on this subject,

we had a run out off seaton carew today and were catching a few......

nice smooth sea and sunshine, i heard a bit of noise from behind us

this lot were hanging about............pots and nets at the ready...

FFS how do you think they made a living before the internet?

do you really think they need us to catch a few fish?

i cannot believe that people think they need us to feed themselves

when nets fish lures dont and vice versa

Some of them will actually put you onto fish and share marks etc etc

S

tell them i work on a boat and we get them in the nets and pots all year

to all you fisher lads and lasses who enjoy your fishing, and sharing your experiences with others via this wonderful thing "the internet site"

theres a nasty bunch of people with boats, and those horrible things called nets, lurking on the site:exclam:

they havent had a cod for six months, and they are just waiting for you or me to post that we have caught fish and they will be there like a shot and net the flipping lot:(

i would have to say it puzzles me that they cant work it out for themselves:confused: ie that fash come aboot april for a while:exclam:

i suggest put a blackout on all posting of catches and lets see what those nasty people with nets do,when they have to think for themselves:D:D:D
get a grip u silly silly man

met lingking on a boat trip and he told me about this site thort he was a canny bloke but after that post i think u r a full blown dooch

Yes i agree to put a blackout on catches caught on the boats because if they are using nets what chance has others got when they go out there:mad::mad::mad::mad: It is going to spoil other anglers from catching:good codling out there and cripple the boats too that are trying to earn a living.:o:o:o

netting is not a new thing you no dont fret we will not take them all

I am not paranoid:confused: however everytime i go out in me yak i am sure somebody is watching me:eek:.............could be the local fishermen me thinks :D...........Dave.

regarding the netting, remember these days netters are regulated and there are only a small percentage of netters left compared to years ago. Years ago you had to weave your way through the nets to get offshore at times, and there was still plenty of fish for boat and shore anglers, and the netters. The problem lies with the huge trawlers scooping up tons and tons of fish and chucking a lot back dead. They have left so few fish to come inshore that there is now very few to share amongst anglers and inshore fishermen.
I also think we should not be amking personal remarks regarding people posting on here, unfortunately as always a post is taken in the wrong sense and the trouble starts, yes have your point of view but keep the name calling to yourself, as somebody said he thought he was on WSF.

Here, here. Lingking is a top bloke and was trying to be somewhat humorous/ironic, no slight was intended I'm sure. If you want to make personal remarks, join WSF............. you will feel right at home there!
