a big well done to all the lads that fished in them gale forces winds and well done to the lads tht caught fish.

Had a mooch around the Haven, just as the comp was starting and fair do's to anyone who stuck it out. Couldn't think of anywhere I'd least like to be than the end of the pier. Having said that I was at Sharpness on Saturday night, nearly got blown away but there were still lights along the pier. Rather them than me.

David I didn't venture onto the pier myself. I fished the whole match from the haven rocks. Needless to say I got my bait back every cast, even the crabs weren't feeding. Only good thing is that I didn't loose any gear what so ever, this must be a record for me.
cheers

Marty - was it you I spoke to? Were you with a guy with a yellow top on who went along the pier? Did you have a big white bait bucket? I had a white golf top on. Found a nice gold ring on the high tide mark.
The last time I posted about the Lobster Pots I said that both me and Rod were never fast all night................ I made up for it Saturday night - fast every chuck and a hook (and / or) a sinker every cast. Only good news was that my best cast, wind with, was 290 yards lol.

well done lads:), especially in the flatter than flatter seas, I think everybodys just hoping now for a bit of movement to push some Cod/codling in haven't seen one caught from local marks for about a week and a half these gale force westerlys aren't helping one bit neither.

David
It wasn't me you spoke to, I was further round the rocks towards the river. You are right about the Lobster Potts mind, I find that when the sea is flat and the tide has started to come in you get hung up all the time. The last time I fished in similar conditions I lost 5 sets of gear. It's funny that when there is a decent sea running you don't seem to loose as much gear.

Cheers
