Actually Doug was a gaffa at our place for years,before my time as well,so I gather he must be getting on,nice to see the senior's getting out and enjoying themselves

Doug is now in his 70's. Has the life of riley. Plays golf nearly every day. Digs worms on the big tides. Fishes W/Bay matches and blanks each week in the Tynemouth retired matches!!!!
I don't think he is in to computers( hasn't got the time!)

Thanks Tony. As a teenager I can remember Doug as someone you didn't muck about with or play up to, I remember him as being fiercely competitive and someone who didn't suffer fools gladly.

Doug gave me a right telling off the night of the NESA comp. Ray and I had fished the pipe with Jim and Tompa. As I have the shortest legs I was the last one off and Doug pointed out that we should have left earlier. We were all going on the assumption that as he was still there we were fine Notice he said nowt to the lads - just me the stupid woman
