banned members?.

.GREAT to have you back.:)roll on the old banter.ps,got to say welldone keith b,for lifting the ban.{ITS CHRISTMAS}.:):):):)

Nowt to do with xmas more like the fact nesa is now a dying site, fb has took over its a shame used to be a laugh and a good bit banter on here but its been over modded and has slowly died. Loads of sales and loads of catch reports on fb still so poor fishing isn't a factor, wsf is quite now to compared to 2 years ago.

Members come and go its how these forums evolve to say every body has left because its crap is a personnel opinion I am a member of 3 fishing forums which all seem to be quite at the mo yes there are times you feel like a change but personally will carry on supporting nesa simply because there are some great lads on here who I would never of met otherwise

Catch reports on facebook?

If by reports you mean a picture of fish with "had these out last night" then I suppose you are right. If by banter you mean loads of swearing, people putting up rude replies, constant arguments, then yes there is plenty of that too, precisely because the moderators do absolutely nothing and it allows the bully boys (who love to intimidate people and pass it off as "banter") to flourish and if you want to buy and sell gear/bait, there is definitely plenty of that.

If you would rather read a real catch report that actually has information/tells a story, if you would rather interact with members, swap information and learn about fishing, then a site like NESA is invaluable.

There is no question that NESA and other sites like WSF are quieter than they used to be and facebook is likely the reason. Putting up a picture with a a line or two, is easier than taking the trouble to actually write a proper report and unfortunately that is what a lot of people are doing these days.
It is a real shame, I have looked at the locker and the rest of the facebook sites, they are entertaining for about 2 minutes, then I got bored with all the crap.

Give me a site like NESA every time.

I agree to parts like some of the bullies who get on, and the secret catch reports. I hated the locker when nesa was busy infact only joined the locker about 3 months ago, just for the fact that nesa is so dead, there used to be post after post of good quality catch reports both boat and shore but now your lucky for a couple a week on here now. And i don't mean to offend people but there is no banter, i have met some great lads on here and still fish with some. Just saying why i thought it was dead on here.

I think it is a gross exaggeration to say NESA is dead, it is quieter, no question, but shore catch reports regularly get read by over 1000 people per thread, so it is still pretty healthy. People tend to get lazy, or they have other things to do at this time of year, so just upload a picture to the locker and leave it at that.

Personally I think(or at least hope) that over time people will get bored with all the facebook sites and migrate back to NESA/WSF etc. For some facebook sites are new and exciting, but they have no soul and no depth and hopefully they will not usurp sites like this in the long term.

I still didn't come back under a different name.
bare with me lad's as I work shift's, and can't weld and be online at the same time.
good luck to you all.

well said mark you are spot on

Listen lads i'm all for the banned members getting back on but that word association thread needs to be banned before i top myself through it or launch a foul mouthed tirade at it and get myself banned!

I have to admit it's easier to post quick reports / photos to Facebook and I do so sometimes while still out fishing, it's so easy without the need for photobucket etc.

I don't think this site is dead if anything it's lost it's "friendly feel" because it became so popular.

In my opinion the site is not "over modded" if anything it's the opposite, people could be arrested for some of the threats that have been posted on here. How many chances have you had now Phil? For someone who thinks the site is dead you were very keen to get back.

You mean the "this is how I get my 40 posts thread" :D I just don't open it :D

In my opinion a complete waste of bandwidth but some members seem to get some enjoyment from it.

I have had no chances no warning or anything i am a good boy sir!! I think it is over modded in the sense some get away with more than others, banned for petty things, while others are allowed to instigate and also comment, can't see how its to popular look at the boat catch reports this season hardly any 3/4 years ago you would have 5 or 6 on a saturday, same as shore reports, yes 1000 people might of looked at posts but you maybe get 5-10 comments if your lucky again 3/4 years ago you would get 3 pages of comments helping and congratulating lads,

So NESA is not dead then Phil. just less popular!? But popular enough for you to keep re-joining under assumed names!?
