Best fishing line

Hi lads i need to go fishing again never been for donkeys years just dusted off my pateke morton & abu 7000 my reel is loaded with sylcast 28lb can any one tell me the best line of today .

best line is the stuff you have on if its looking worn reel it onto another reel and backend so ya have the good stuff on front end cheap as chips

I would agree with Diawa Tournament ,mind you Berkely Big Game and Ultima F1 are also great ....... personally I like the Ultima F1 ,especially the lighter stuff.

Sakuma crystal range another very good line and a bargain if you buy the bulk reels

For the heavy stuff, 30lb Big Game, nothing else I've tried really comes close; for lighter stuff I used to like Ultima F1 but have converted to the new Powersteel. It's a bit more expensive but a helluva lot tougher and a lot less stretchy - so far it's outlasted F1 by 2 or 3 times, so works out cheaper in the long run as I'm not having to re-spool so often.

I've just acquired a 525 mag and loaded it with 20lb Red Ice and it seems pretty good after a practice chuck last night. My 535 GS is loaded with Daiwa Tournament and never had a problem with it, good line. Just reading a few reviews persuaded me to try the Red Ice.

iron silk from berkley for me ,top of the range 30lb looks like 15lb has no stretch ,no friction 10 quid a spool.

heard good things about that powersteel. will be interesting when i try it. i remember when the grauvell tecklon gold came out and the breaking stains were well out along with the performance.
i personally stick with suffix tritanium for winter long range cod fishing.
