Best place you've ever fished (UK shore)

I'm with John (Snatcher) on this one, its got to be the Mull for me, specifically plugging for Bass. Peace and quiet, standing in calm, clear water, only shattered by the splash of a Bass nailing your plug.

Heaven.

Got to agree with Chukka on this one, only place to be added a was of course loch long at the same sort of time.

Remember the ferry landing with very fond memories, don't know who Chukka is, but think we must know each other as we have seemed to fish the same places.......especially the ferry landing before the ferry started.

Folkstone beach! Reminded me of when I was a boy on roker pier in the summer, catch 2-3 mackerel a chuck.
Folkstone its all flatties and doggies and cod.....Quality

ferry landing sunday mornings before ferry started /loch long, gareloch rhu narrows in the seventies

and last but no means least the blast beach yrs and yrs ago i so miss how it used to be.

its a toss up between portland bill dorset caught lots of wrasse, and dungerness beach kent, caught over 100 dabs between 3 of us:D

Am with mate that pub at end is very handy & when you have had enough of trying to catch a fish the pub at the bottom of the tram line is great to just sit n get bladdered think its the kings arms or head

Lleyn penninsula, north wales.

this year will be the 15th year ive been down there, always the begining of june. a group of us go for the week, staying in a cottage.

one session we had 32 huss over 8lb in 3.1/2hrs.

over 20 species on offer and we can pick a different venue each time to target different species. we usually fish 2 or 3 venues a day.

only another week to go and it starts again :)

Got to agree with Dabcatcher, Lleyn peninsular around Aberdaron takes some beating, once caught loads of wrasse to nearly 6lb from a rock mark down there, non stop action for hours on end.

Chapel point in Lincolnshire can be great to for smoothounds, we once had a load in a hectic couple of hours to 12lb.

Ethie Mains near Arbroath is a cracking spot for cod, pollack and wrasse in summer to but my all time favourite place has to be St Abbs/Eyemouth, it's a short drive up the road and although now nowhere near as good as it used to be, it's still a fantastic place to fish from with a good chance of a big surprise to those who persevere.

It's funny how I can't seem to think of a place where it's brilliant. 4-5years of really getting into sea fishing and it sounds like I've missed the boat!

It's more special sessions rather than places for me. Blyth Pier last year in 4 hours had 12 for nearly 30lb during the day. First time I went on the bloody thing!

Blyth beach getting double figures of codling but smaller the winter before last. Whitley beach the same.

Kingy taking me up to Hauxley when I first started and having 3 for about 14lb 15 yards out in a little gully.

Now, I'm wanting to target Rays, Plaice, Smoothies and tope more so than red kelp cod.

Loch Long

Loch Long

Loch Long for me. Just across the water from where I live. As previous posters have said, fantastic cod fishing up until the late 80s.

Only mackerel, doggies and a few coalies these days, but the scenery is still spectacular. The trawlers couldn't net that !!

its gotta be Aberthaw for me, its in south wales in case some people dont know where it is, proper tackle grave yard, worse than the northeast coast hahaha

Was that at the out fall pipe at the power station, was stationed near by at RAF St Athan.

Awesome that mate.

Well I'm going to stick my neck out here, wont be the first or last and say the best place we as anglers, whether your a shore, boat or freshwater fisherman is in bed. We will all of dreamn't of the best days fishing in living memory, the most fish caught, the heaviest fish caught, the most species caught, the biggest smile. So the best place is in bed.

Mine would have to be little place very north east of scotland place called Golspie . Used to have our annual summer family hol up there, me 2 brothers & I loved it as it was a coalie every cast & we didn't need to buy bait as used limpets n dug lug from place a old local man told us about a few mile down the road called dornoch. Looking back being 10year old it was a fantastic hol every year . Hmmm road trip me thinks
