Been told there was a bass caught today tipping the scakes at 6lb2 today from a local mark anyone else hurd this?

Yep. You mite be rite. But he has also said that he has seen the photos but refuses to say where it was caught. Just saying.
When I opened up thread titled BIG BASS, I expected a little more info.
ooops... missed that comment m8, understand where you coming from now. but with bass very little will be given away or it will be netted off straight away. i understand the lad who caught it not wanting to give the mark away or everyone and his uncle would be there.
would still be nice to see a pic of the fish. my guess is be from the rock edges been no surf on recently so may n0t have come from a beach. could be one of piers such as seaham as seems to throw up decent ones every now and again.

I started the thread as i was told about it from a mate and wanted to know if anyone had hurd about it. Since last night he has been round mine to pick some gear up and showed me the pic and told me were jt was from and what bait it was on. This lad has put alot kf time effort and money into this area and trusts me to not go and tell everyone were it was. So his hard work time and effort can be spoilt by people who wont put the time and effort in. Would you tell everyone if you found a spot in the river that give up gold?no is the answer. At the time i posted this j didnt know anything and was simply asking if anyone had hurd the same
Dead right, if this Angler has put in the time and effort not just to find the spot but to stay with it until he got his fish, thats his right. imagine if he posted on here the details, next time he went there would be nets all round it and more rods than you could shake a stick at. well done that Angler.

Fully agree mate the time he has spent fishing big tides small tides medium tides day light dust darkness i bet he has put in over 100 hours in easy and why should people just be given them. But then not all of us like to catch our own fish and enjoy the benifits.of dedication amd hard work

I could just do what most people do on here and lie and say its from a mark i never fish like the hall beach lol

its such a shame that we have greedy so and so's that are on this forum specifically for first shouts of valued commercial fish, so they can go off and net the location to bits, as they did with the big beach, I have heard rumours that they used illegal nets there and took species they weren't meant to take as well, all I can say is I hope they get done big time.
It is a pain that we can no longer put out shouts about such fish, but we do have to be careful now.
