hi just bought a boat and wonderd if any 1 could give me an idea of some wrecks around h.pool and do i need a licence to put crab pots out thanks

You need a permit for pots, you can apply for one free here:

North East Sea Fisheries Committee - Current Bylaws

They send you 10 tags for your pots.

thanks mate i will phone 2moro 4 a permate will i need to give name of boat cos dont think it as 1 as we just bought it last week

i have a list of some of the hartlepool wrecks which i will have to locate but will forward when i know find it - do you have a plotter if so most of the wrecks around the pool are on there.

where is your boat and what type is it.

i dont have a plotter the boat is 32foot cabin boat and located behine fishing shop over headland

did you phone or do it on line.av you had many lobsters

Printed the forms off and posted them.

Never put any out but you can only take 2 at a time anyway or 10 crabs, you also need to follow the size limits as with everything in the sea..also before setting them have a think about the location you are putting them down.

Good look with the boat i have had mine 18 days now and still have the odd job to do.

I got mine from the same site Kieth sent you,you have to look for the one called shellfish short term.L

I am based in the Royal Quays Marina Tyne.

I have 37 wrecks within 2 miles either side of the pool mouth but never get down that way so never fished any of them and dont think i ever will.
