Hallow can any 1 b able to giv me some information on how too fish the scrap yard for conger in stranrea, a want to no how u fish it, wot gear to use? and wen is it best to fish it thnx

good strong beachcaster, 6/o hook, wire trace or 100lb mono (just in case) nice chunk of mackerel and drop it over the side and wait. The conger live in the old plates that are still lying on the bottom, if you get one on try your best to stop it getting under one. If it does just keep good pressure on all the time in the hope you can drag it back out.

thanks m8 for the knowledge am onabout going up very soon just giving it a bash was at the mull a munf ago and had small 1s up 2 4lb and lots of other species, so way abouts on the breackers yard do u fish tho and which side?

anywhere on the wets side, nearer the end the better, but be prepared to walk your fish to the beach to land them, use a gaff and your risk a badly twisted wrist, use a drop net and risk getting it smashed. You could chance lifting, but make sure your knots, links etc are top noth, you could be talking about a 30lb fish.

i am prepared to do any thing for a big fish lol so a take it its a big hike to walk your fish off its an experience for is at end of day, al b takin a boat rod wif is anorl lyk just incase

thommaz just one thing to mention mate is..you arent allowed to fish there because of the dangerous structure what it is..and it is fenced off so you will have to climb a barbed wire fence most likely to get on to it...i havent been for a few years and people will more than likely put me right on this but be very careful if you do fish it....especially at night....bc

thnx m8 but is it easy to climb it , wt wd happen if ya get caught on it out o nought?
and how dangerous coz i have fished in many dangerous places m8 ?

iv fished it before last year it quite easy to climb over the gate like and you've jus got to watch where urwalking for holes and trips last thing you want to do is trip over and go str8 into the drink lol

Lads ,lads ,lads ..... as a non member of the text talk brigade it would help us if you tried to write a bit " more proper like " , I'm not getting on my high horse or anything it just takes me about a half an hour to figure out what you're saying .

I get texts from my son in the same way and I've given up trying to read them :D:D.

Also the idea of climbing fences and " dangerous structures " makes me want to give you this sound advice .

NO FISH is worth putting yourself at risk for ,so take care mate and heed the words of him who knows ;)

i suppose your ryt m8, am gunna go up and have a luk b4 i get the gear out the car if a dont fancy it al go else way, brashy m8 wot did u have thy wen u fished it and are you put during the week m8

CHECK OUT MY REPORT RYAN CONGER
If its the conger you are after DONT even think about using a beach caster lol

Boat rod just fish down the side of the pier (the end is the best) seaward side.

PLEASE PLEASE dont use a gaff on the fish, they need to be returned to fight another day.
just hand ball the conger up the side we have no problem using this method with 30lb + conger.

thommaz, do us all a favour and write out your posts properly with you? I'm looking at a computer screen, not a phone screen, you've got a keyboard in front of you, try using it....properly.

Tommaz, you can get them through the day, my mate had one of 24lb years ago from old house point during the day, although they do feed better at night.
