Personally I feel this thread should have been stopped a long time ago!
The racist comments and character assissantion are dreadful and ultimately damaging...the forum administrators should bring it to an end.
Some of the comments are hurtful and outrageous! Tackle shops should be supported not publically humiliated.
There'd be a far bigger outcry if there were none locally.
Admin and mods, get your act together and end this senseless thread!
Sorry mate...that's not life! Have an opinion yes but some remarks are dreadful...
At least the tackle dealer(s) in question will still be providing a service to anglers long after this site has gone...as it seems to have lost a little credibility don't you think?
The names Paul by the way...not Jim ;-)
I noticed you avoided the racism question...heyho hopefully the thread will be cleaned up or closed up...
Night all, I'm off to the tackle shop in the morning to pick up my "regular" order of bait...just the 180 mile round trip! Thank God for tackle shops...
Thanks, off to the Suffolk shingle where the spring run of codling appear to have started early!

Well, didn't start that post very well did you...? Contradictory or what? So everyones entitled to an opinion? Apart from me according to you...[/QUOTE
Ok I stand corrected, I was trying to make a point that everyone has an opinion whether it be good or bad.
Truce ?
;-)
Nick opinions are fine, I love a good debate...personal insults however have no place and do more harm than good...agreed?
Agreed mate![]()
nice of him to sponsor the sunderland council comp over this weekend too with prizes![]()
Andy supplied the prizes for our open at trade prices, then donated, (sponsored) the junior prize. He did this for us for 16 years. In my opinion he's a fair guy.
I know there has been a lot of opinions on tackle shops keeping bait, etc, back for regulars, but is'nt this a way of life. We all work for a living and whatever we do, if you have worked overtime regular you will get priority over people who only want to work when it suits them. I'm sure boat skippers would try and find a place on their boat for someone who fishes with them regularly, etc, etc.
I shop at a variety of dealers, and stop and have a bit craic at all of them, so this klingon covers many galaxies.
Been a good thread this........![]()
Hi Clarky, Wasn't a dig at you mate, sorry if it came across that way. The open comp was Eaington Colliery Open, we made it the last one in December gone, due to reduced amount of anglers taking part, we could'nt cover the prize money and prizes for this year.
Just sold my beach rod and reel, but will continue to shop at the tackle shops in the Sunderland area for my boat and reservoir gear.![]()
my interpretation of a cling on is some one who hangs round a shop buys nowtknows nowt
does nowt
but thinks he/she does
and then tries to force a worthless load of crap info down the neck of some poor blighter thats gone into the shop
