morning fellas, has anyone ever used or would recommend CART bait? heard about it the other day for the 1st time n just wondered if it was any good?

aye against the law but to be honest if a crab is on sale I don't see the problem buying it and using claws to eat and guts for bait. unless your in a comp I doubt you would ever get checked.

i wouldn't use it in a open or in 1 of our club matches but your right if your pleasure fishing you probably will never get asked if they can look at your bait or your tackle if they do and you have something you shouldnt don't show them as they don't have the authority to search you or your box or to detain you but they can request the police to come

cart

was given 2 cart sausages to try by an angler who was packing up for the day a few weeks ago.....i left them on the wall at middleton pier to use later .....about 1/2 hour later my mate shouts me over and pointed out some mucky bugger had left 2 turds on the wall next to my rod and knocked them into the sea with a stick that was lying on the floor ...the stick followed the "turds".. he still doesnt believe me that they were 2 cart sausages [partially defrosted] and is convinced some agile bugger from h/pool was trying to have a sh.te into the north sea lol

used them on seaham north pier 2 weeks ago, we had blacks, yellow tails, squid blueys and razor only thing that caught was the cart, have to say it is weird binding a frozen sausage onto your hook to cast out ha ha

are you sure i was told by 1 of there officers they couldn't do it i was at st marys and a guy had been getting lobsters might or might not of had 2 meany or under size ones but he refused to show the nifca guy and he just walked away he told me if the lad had showed him what he had then it would have been different outcome

I think it is only edible peelers that are banned, not edible crab.

Codfather145 gave me 5 for our Whitby uptiding trip back in October. Lynn took two, I took 2, four fish!

The fifth one?

Eh, I stood on it ! :red:

the law states that no edible crab my be used for fishing bait.
i don't agree with it but it is the law .i cant see why that if i go to the fish key and buy some edible crabs if i decide to eat them give them away or even bin them that is my choice but someone can say you cant use them for bait something not right there
