casting a bait on a field 250 yds, well done, some going that bud. I wish i could do that without a bait, you must have really good technique, really need more people posting on here like you, you obviously now alot and have alot to share, keep it up pal.

blimey, never met a cod who was worried about how far you can cast, you either plonk a bait on a cods heed through knowledge of the area or blind luck,im sure a lot of lads on here have had fish close to the shore,my pb came from st abbs after a overrun no more than 10 yards out,the whole point in being able to cast at distance is you have taken time to learn so your rigs tend to be better and you will use better bait and have attention to detail, thats why they catch, but wanging out a bait miles sometimes aint the answer....ive seen this from a famous north east angler,he cast back into a skeer instead of blasting out like I did...result him 4 cod me nowt..lesson learnt:D

well said chris, how true those words are, people often cast over the top of many fish, its definitely great bait and local angling knowledge that catches most fish... casting big distance can sometimes help but its only a useful tool to have on most marks:)
