Fished the cat n dog steps tonight, the water looked promising it ended up producing 23 coalies, i was hounded by them 1 every cast all most after workin the tide 2hours back started to pick up loads of weed so i then wrapped up n called it a night.

its near the cafe and the toilets at the bottom of the cliff at roker, just look for the white lighthouse on the coast road just before the marriott hotel, it fishers good when there is a good sea running, can be dangerous tho!

were the coalies any size dave? we had small stuff on groyne, coalies and whiting i had only codling but undersize. other lads on there started gettin a few better fish just before we left when it went dark.

You will need a rod stand if it gets a bit rough because you will have to move back away from the railings, so best take one incase.

where they all size, if they where send me your full name and what you caught them on.

well done on catching, thommaz ive been told its a low water shot aswell but when you look at the ground your fishing onto then i would say it was a high water shot! That said i suppose it depends on sea conditions aswell, fished it a couple of seasons ago and i know what codhunter means about the lack of water depth at low water.

Lots of coalies when we were there when the airshow was on in the boat close in, the grandbairns were pulling them in 2-3 at a time. :D:D

you can fish from the beach at low water, fish end of rocks and cast towards roker pier, two hours before the top of the tide and you will be on the prom.
