Clique?!

I think this forum is excellent. I often mention it when fishing. I,ve met a couple of lads when fishing who also use the forum. One from Redcar and another from Horden way, Its good for information and i find it very informative.
Insano is my mate we both do the same job. Only i,m in one county and he,s in the other.
I don,t know anyone else but i,ll bet when i,m out one day be it on a river or resevoir or on the pier or boats i,ll meet up with a member and have a good bit of a chinwag.
I was on the resevoir the other day trying my hand at fly fishing. In the back of my mind i remembered Sless,s bairn with the trout she caught on the opening day of the season. I blanked on the fly but it was good incentive to keep trying.

Only a couple of things I can say about this forum as a new member.
Great bunch of guys, whether sea fishing, fresh water or boats there is always some friendly banter going on and loads and loads of info being passed around.
I have passed a few notes back and forth with various members and I am sure that in the not too distant future, whether thru a comp or mutual arrangement that I will spend a shift or two fishing with fellow NESA members.
Great Site , ran by great people, keep up the good work.

the amount of people i have met on here is great
a few years ago i got a pm off frank nesbitt

do you fancy coming to poole for 4 days boat fishing
i never met any of the lads ever before(32 of them)
and i got on with them all
the year later i went to jersey with them
i have met loads of lads and got on great with them all

so i think this site is exellant for mixing

even the pairs that yours truly arranged
we fished with a few lads and had super nights fishing
well the crack was good

forums are they not for open debate??but arguments and disagreements always seem to occur

I do not understand, how can you have open debate without argument and disagreement. This place is an absolute walk in the park compared to many other forums, a credit to it's members and the moderators. There's been some right old ding dongs on here in the past

I think it's grossly unfair to accuse some of the members of this site as being "cliquey" it is a total kick in the face for a number of lads and lasses here who would break their backs to help people on-line and in real life (and have done, just about). I bet a number of these will be horrified that that is the opinion people looking in have formed. If you don't like the forum nick off, if you don't like some of what's said here then seethe quietly or have a rant back. The fact that without fail when members have met up by chance in person or small groups they have had nothing to say but excellent things about their craic speaks volumes. The comps are a bit diferrent and it's understandable why people feel a bit odd or shy or whatever - it's a comp! Your meeting strangers you think you kow! Some of you may even be guilty of saying odd things at stupid O'Clock in the morning and feel a bit shan about it;) !

It's very rare that the answers are irrelevant, I know this because I just tried to light my tab with a memory stick and thought - A combined memory stick lighter would be just the biz and you could download butane from www.gasforlighters.com

ps This is a Local Forum for Local People :red:

ive been a member of the site for a good while although i dont post often ive met quite a few of the lads and thye have all been friendly at the nvs comp i didnt think i would be able to make it through lack of transport and was offered a lift by at least three people grat bunch of lads on here.

i sometimes feel if im billy nomates as well , but allthough i look everyday i hardly ever post, again i fished the north south and felt a bit left out, but thats because i didnt push myself into any of the groups. everyone i did speak to though was very friendly , and im sure if i had put in a bit more effort i would have been rewarded.

just want to add if anyone has taken my previous comment the wrong way, i love the site ,but the feeling i used to have sometimes is because i dont post as often as i should, and didnt push myself forward at the meet. if i or anyone else puts in the effort ,we will get far more out.
For example one of my recent posts was for fresh crab to take away with me on hol to try for my first bass,i got several pms,and want to thank the member who gave me some,I caught 5 in one three hour session .
Again going back to the NVS i will be helping the south side win next year and am sure i will enjoy it more than i did last. Allthough i enjoyed that one too.
I think ill stop babbling now as some of you will be loosing the will to live soon!

i didnt reply to your crab post because i simply couldnt get you any
not because i wasnt interested in the post

im glad to hear you will be helping us retain the nvs trophy AGAIN

Crab posts are often responded to with a PM, it's a crab thing. As are Bass Posts, worm beds, new wrecks(?) and Bass marks. This is to stop unscrupulous gadgys doing wobbly things with little effort for loads of reward.

Not complaining Sless infact im praising the site and the lads grand bunch (just wish i was better with words)

I have to say that when I first joined the site I thought the site was very clique. The good news is that if you stick with it you will find it to be one of the most friendly sea fishing sites on the net. Everyone will tend to comment on a mates post which probably leads to this opinion. If you stick with it you will make good friends here...and fishing companions as has been my case.

Over the last year I have met several people from here including the site owner and have made some good friends and no enemies. The other point is I have had some great fishing trips as a direct result of this site...the rnli fundraiser its one that immediately springs to mind. I happento have a different approach to angling than the majority of NE anglers in that I fish for pleasure and return well over 90% of what I catch. No one has ever commented on that and peopleaccept that we all fish in different ways.

Over the last couple of years this has moved from a site I visit occasionally to my first point of call on the net each evening. This is partly because of new responsibilities as the NSFC angling representative and as the SACN regional co-ordinator. I hope to keep local anglers informed of what is going on and also fight for a better deal for NE anglers. Not everything I have to write is of intrest to most but at least I can feel I have done my bit by making people aware of things that are happening and things have never happened as fast as they are at the moment with regard to our sport. This forum has the potential to help fashion NE sea angling into a semblance of what it used to be. I for one hope that will be the case and will work hard to ensure it happens.

Cheers
Dave

Please stick with the site it is by far one of the better sites on the web. Also please do not think the replies on this thread are negative towards you as they are not and still post your reply to this thread when you have read it.
Regards Jason

all i can say it is better this site running than not,do we not have the best anglers in the uk in the north east i think so, arguments happen on all forums i think there has been one or two heated as late its a shame, i have had plenty of help on here and would like to think i can be of help, is it not the time to go forward now and talk about fishing that we all enjoy ,i also like moaning on but i cant help it i am just a miserable old git

Look at the replies you have recieved on this (YOUR) thread, does this not prove the point NESA is not clique.

As sless points out and so many others if there are no replies to a thread its simply because some have not been online so have not seen the thread or they simply do not have the answers so cannot reply.

Just about to send the same reply. I've only been a member for a few months and have already met a few of the other members. They have given me so much advice and everyone of them very friendly. I can't wait to get out and fish with them.(i'll have to though as i'm tempererly laid up!!!)
I'm a really shy and quiet lad normally but i need to put myself out a bit as it's the only way i'll learn more and meet more friendly people.

Cheers for the offer Mark. Give me plenty of warning tho so I can seek advice off the United Nations to get around the missus letting me out to play! Lol
