I remeber you used to get some massive bags from the sunderland piers from august onwards, but not now. But for all the quantities, a 2lb fish was always a good one.
I was just thinking about it because you never hear of many good Coalfish over say 5lb caught, from the boats, and more especially the shore. From what I\'ve read, the big winter fish caught on the wrecks in the channel fight even better than Pollack.
I was fishing for the odd mackerel that was swimming with them (thats my story and I\'m sticking to it).
