Fished a mark tonight me mate had 2 codling one of which had a canny substantial lump bite out of it,so what are these bite marks on such fish,are they of hagfish? Anyone else caught fish which have had this such problem and are they edible? :question:

would be better if you had a photo, they can be caused by many things
