its been a while but decided tonight to have a few hours up craster. the only bait i had left was some frozen crab from dec 2008( last sea fishing session) lol so i wasn't hopeful.
got up to the mark i enjoy about 6.30pm and set up, 1 hook rotten bottom rig with old crab, first cast not a bite, second the same. i thought with old bait i would have no luck so prised a few limpet from the rocks and mixed it up with crab, five min in the water and knock knock, managed to hook into 1.5lb cod. baited up again same as before and again within ten min another knock and another 1.5lb red cod. by this time the light was starting to fade so decided one last cast. the bites came again but got hung up in the kelp and lost me weight so called it a night. all in all a good evening, nice flat sea and very warm :)

well done, where abouts in craster where you fishing going up there tomorrow

any tips be handy as never fished up that way before

cheers

left of the harbour on the rocks, anywhere along there is canny but you are fishing kelpy ground so be prepared to lose a bit gear, rotten bottom rigs, one hook, 4-6oz lead without wires, big juicy bait, crab mussel, squid. good luck ;)

had another session up there tonight 6pm until 9.45pm, just starting to get knocks when it was getting dark, no tip lights or headlamp so had to go home.
i was speaking to a young lad and his dad who had been up to the castle fishing, the lad had a decent 5lb ish ling caught on macky fillet
