Look at Northwest and Cumbria sea angling forums,recent match/open results past couple weekends, been won with bags of dogfish.Give you an idea of areas and marks to target.

no need to travel,seaham pier been throwing loads out past weeks,also roker pier and odd ones off Tynemouth pier,but if you want a w/e away the west coast your best bet. davy.

Absolutely Davey. Pay the £30 for Seaham club membership, it's been hoying some nice Woofers out for a couple of weeks now. Probably a damn sight cheaper than the diesel to get to the Solway and you get access to one of the best venues in the area.

Agree with Chiefwigum as well, why anyone would want to travel to catch them is beyond me, hate the bloody things really, had many a session on Chesil beach ruined by them hitting the bait before anything else gets the chance

Solway is a good spot for them, if you look at Borgue, go in the caravan park and its a short walk to the spot, you might pick a thornback up, you freeline rag for Pollack as well.

Dundrennan, walk through the firing ranges, is a hot spot for them.

Abbey Burn foot, drive the car down to the beach, walk left, off the big rocks. you have a chance of all sorts amongst the dogs.

Bit early for the Solway I would have thought, agree they are a nuisance. On my annual trip up to Kirkudbright I get sick of them about half way through landing the first one.

Loved catching Dogfish,
First time in the 80's we went to the Solway. when we meet anglers who never blanked, sorry, never blanked? yeah Dogfish are a problem!
Dogfish sre good, they taste nice (Rock Salmon ) they are however a bit of a pig to skin, but once learned,
Fishing on our crap NE Coast, they would be a welcome addition,
