me and my mate stu fished roker lastnight from 10pm just has everyone was giving up hope for mackerel and leaving for home ,we fished my usual mark before the bunker straight away into codling but not quite size ,i decided to hit the roundhead followed by stu a while later ,first cast rod was out 10 mins few rattles to give interest then sommit hit then slacked lined brought back memorys of them cold winter nights even tho it was a warm night 
reeled up a nice codling that weighed just under 3lb on fresh crab .
measuring 50cm,s
more and more codling was showing but not making size stu was into them aswell every cast he also had a small plaice ,few whiting ,then the better stamp of whiting turned up i kept a few of these for the nieghbour .we decided to move back down to where we started off i gets a nice whiting first cast 35cm,s
daylight was creeping in fast baits was getting hit hard straight away coalies ,dabs
pouting and more whiting and codling even a rockling showed too but stu pulls in after a cracking couple of bites on hes 2 hook flapper set up a humongous pouting without a doubt best ive seen yet well over 2lb i say with a cracking whiting

i took another size codling at 37cm,s which was returned
been a while since i was on roker an really enjoyed the session must had over 40 fish between us and we didnt even think about trying for mackerel we was too busy
but welldone stu on 2 good specimens 
the morning sunrise before leaving for home
oh by the way stu ya owe me a quid for heaviest fish
